CHAPTER 4.
AN ACT to pay the arrears of salary due Ara Spence,
late Chief Judge, and William Tingle, late Associate
Judge of the fourth Judicial District, and Ara Spence,
Judge of the eighth Judicial Circuit.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer be, and he is hereby
authorised to pay, on the warrant of the Comptroller,
to Ara Spence, late Chief Judge of the fourth Judicial
District, the sum of four hundred and fifty-eight dollars
and thirty-three cents, and to William Tingle, late Associate
Judge of the same district, the sum of six hundred
and forty-one dollars and sixty-six cents, it being
the balance due them respectively as Judges of the
fourth Judicial District.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That the Treasurer be,
and he is hereby ordered to pay on the warrant of the
Comptroller, to Ara Spence the sum of eighty-three
dollars and thirty-three cents for services as Judge of
the eight Judicial Circuit, from the fifteenth of December,
eighteen hundred and fifty-one, to the first of January,
eighteen hundred and fifty-two.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from its passage.

CHAPTER
5.
AN ACT regulating the compensation of the Judges of
the Orphans' Court of Prince George's county.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That in addition to the per diem of the
Judges of the Orphans' Court, of Prince George's
county, as provided for by the act of December session,
eighteen hundred and forty-two, chapter one hundred
and eighty-eight, section one, each Judge of said Court
shall be entitled to mileage, at the rate of five cents per
mile, for each and every mile he shall travel in going
to and returning from the session of said Court over and
above six miles from his place of residence.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from and after the date of its passage.
