Absalom W. Sparks of said county, then a constable,
on a writ of venditioni exponas, endorsed a twenty-fourth
writ of venditioni exponas, against a certain
Perry Frisby, free negro; And whereas, the said constable
failed to return said writ, and to make a return
or a report of his sale and proceedings, to Kent county
court, or to the circuit court for said county, and the
said Absalom W. Sparks, having for several years past
ceased to be a constable; Therefore,

return writ.

Be it enacted by the General
Assembly of Maryland,
That Absalom W. Sparks, late a constable of
Kent county, be, and he is hereby authorised to return
said writ to the circuit court for Kent county or to the
clerk of said court, together with a report of his proceedings
thereunder, verified by his oath; and that the
said court, on the application of the purchasers of said
house and lot of land, or of any one interested therein,
and being satisfied that the notice of the intended application
has been given, by advertisement published in
some newspaper printed in Kent county, for three successive
weeks before such application, is hereby authorised
to ratify and confirm said sale, if the said court
shall be satisfied that the said sale was fairly made, after
due notice, and the purchase money paid; and in case
the said court shall ratify the said sale, then they shall
order and direct the said Absalom W. Sparks, to convey
the said land and premises to the purchasers, their heirs
and assigns, as tenants, in common, by deed duly executed
and acknowledged according to law, and to order
the said writs of execution so returned, and the sale
and proceedings to be recorded by the clerk of the circuit
court for Kent county.

AN ACT to allow a pension to John Edward Ferel, a
private in the American Revolution, and appropriating
a sum of money for the payment thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That John Edward Ferel, of Saint
Mary's county, a private in the American revolution,
be, and he is hereby allowed a pension, for and during
