CHAPTER 222.
AN ACT to continue in force until the first day of
February, in the year eighteen hundred and fifty-four,
the act passed at the last session, chapter three hundred
and sixteen, entitled, an act to authorise the appointment
of a commissioner to take testimony to provide
for the recording of copies of wills and other
papers of which the originals were lost by the burning
of the court house in Dorchester county, and to
remedy as far as practicable the evils likely to ensue
from the destruction of the records of said county.

Re-enacted.

Be it enacted by the General
Assembly of Maryland,
That the act passed at the last session, chapter
three hundred and sixteen, entitled, an act to authorise
the appointment of a commissioner to take testimony,
to provide for the recording of copies of wills and
other papers of which the originals were lost by the
burning of the court house in Dorchester county, and
to remedy as far as practicable the evils likely to ensue
from the destruction of the records of said county, be
and the same is hereby re-enacted, and continued in
full force until the first day of February, eighteen hundred
and fifty-four.

CHAPTER 224.
AN ACT to make valid the acts of Thomas Bay, a
justice of the peace, in and for Harford county.
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, Thomas Bay, a justice
of the peace,
duly appointed in and for Harford county, did continue
to discharge the duties of magistrate after his election
and qualification as judge of the orphans court of said
county; And whereas, great injustice and inconvenience
might ensue to parties interested; Therefore,
|
Acts valid.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the acts of Thomas Bay, as justice
of the peace in and for Harford county, during the time
he discharged the duties of judge of the orphans' court,
and magistrate, be and they are hereby declared to be as
