valid and effectual to all intents and purposes, as if
the said Thomas Bay, at the time of doing or performing
such act or acts, had not held the office of judge of
the orphans' court of said county.

     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.

                           CHAPTER 225.

AN ACT to refund to Henry F. Fries and George Carey,
     an overpayment of tax on executors commissions.



     Passed May
18, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the Treasurer of this State be, and
he is hereby directed to pay on the warrant of the comptroller,
the sum of thirty-three dollars and eighty-one
cents to Henry F. Fries, and the sum of thirty-three
dollars and eighty-one cents to George Carey, for an
over-payment made by them to the State of the tax on
their commissions as executors of N. P. Tyson, deceased.
     Authority to
pay.
      SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.
In force.


                           CHAPTER 226.

AN ACT to incorporate the Washington Hotel Company
              at Hagerstown, Washington county.



     Passed May
18, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That Jacob Snively, Henry W. Delinger,
Isaac Motter, Jacob H. Grove, Henry Boteler,
George Scott Kennedy, Abraham Strite, Levi Easton,
Alexander Neill, Jr. Robert Fowler, F. M. Menley,
Howard Kennedy, William E. Doyle and James
Cowdy, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners
to receive subscriptions to the Washington Hotel company,
and they, or any two or more of them are hereby
authorised, after giving five days notice in two or
     Commissioners
appointed
to receive
subscriptions.
