effectual in law, as if the restriction aforesaid, in the
law aforesaid, had never been made.

     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the power conferred
upon the said county commissioners, by the said
original act, to borrow money on the credit of said
county, to pay for said poor-house farm, and the establishment
of an alms-house thereon, be, and is
hereby increased to the extent of any additional expense
that may have been incurred in the purchase of
more than one hundred and fifty acres of land by said
county commissioners; and that the said county commissioners,
or their successors, be, and are also hereby
authorised and empowered to sell and convey any portion
of the said poor-house farm, bought by them as
aforesaid, whenever, in their judgment, the public interest
may require such sale.

                                   CHAPTER 24.

AN ACT providing for the payment of expenses incurred
     in repairing the Furnace of the House of Delegates,
     and for materials furnished and work done in
     the Chambers and the Committee Rooms of the two
     Houses of the General Assembly and the State Library.

9, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the sum of one thousand and
eighty-nine dollars and forty-three cents, be, and the
same is hereby appropriated for the payment of expenses
incurred in the repairs to the furnace of the
House of Delegates, under an order of the last session,
and for materials furnished and work done in the chambers
and committee rooms of the two Houses and the
Library, under the supervision of the State Librarian.
     Sum appropriated.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That of the sum so appropriated,
the Treasurer, on the warrant of the Comptroller,
shall pay to Henry E. Bateman four hundred
and ninety-one dollars and ninety-three cents; to Edward
Sands one hundred and sixty-one dollars and
thirty-nine cents; Robbins & Bibb thirty-six dollars
and twenty-five cents; T. A. Mitchell two hundred
and twenty-five dollars; Iglehart & Caldwell thirty-four
