SEC. 3. And be it enacted,
That no person shall
be entitled to take charge of any primary school in said
county, without a certificate as mentioned in the second
section of this act.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted,
That the commissioners
of each of the school districts in said county, as now
constituted or hereafter constituted, be, and they are
hereby authorised to levy upon any parent or guardian,
widows and Orphans without property excepted, whose
child or children or ward or wards, attend any school
within their respective districts a sum not exceeding
fifty cents per month, for each and every child or ward;
Provided, they deem it advisable to do so, to be collected
as other small debts are collected by law and to be
applied to the use of said school.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted,
That no school shall be
deprived of its portion of the school fund in consequence
of being vacated, unless the school shall remain
vacated for a longer period than twelve months at
any one time.

CHAPTER 160.
AN ACT to increase the capital stock of the Dollyhide
Copper Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Dollyhide Copper company,
incorporated by an act passed at December session
eighteen hundred and forty-six, chapter two hundred
and six, be and they are hereby authorised to increase
their capital stock to six hundred thousand dollars, instead
of to four hundred thousand dollars, as provided
for in said act.
