     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from its passage.

                                   CHAPTER 116.

AN ACT to make valid certain proceedings in the Circuit
                         Court for Montgomery county.

29, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the circuit court for Montgomery
county, sitting as a court of equity, be authorised and
directed to ratify and confirm all sales of land belonging
to the estate of Colonel Robert Edmonstone, late of
said county, deceased, heretofore made and reported,
or which may hereafter be made and reported to the
said court by the trustee, in the cause pending in said
court, in which Edward Jarvis and Lewellyn Powell
are complainants, and Benjamin B. Edmonstone and
others are defendants; Provided, said court be satisfied
that all persons having any interest in said estate, whether
minors or of full age, shall have made themselves parties
to said proceedings, by petition signed by counsel,
and consented to the said ratification; And provided,
that all such persons shall have their just proportion of
said estate allotted to them, as if they were parties regularly
made to said proceedings.
     Authority to
ratify sales.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the title of the purchasers
of the land at the sales made and ratified, as
aforesaid, shall be valid against the petitioners and
others, parties to the said proceedings, having any interest
in the said estate.
Titles of purchasers

     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.
