two hundred and ninety-three, which said several
sections provide for exemptions from jury duty, be, and
they are hereby repealed.

That this act shall take
effect from its passage.

CHAPTER
115.
AN ACT repealing certain provisions in former acts
relative to the taking of acknowledgments of deeds
by Justices of the Peace for Baltimore city and county,
and making valid acknowledgments taken before such
Justices.

Repealed.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That so much of the sixth section of the
act entitled, and act relating to justices of the peace, in
the city of Baltimore, passed at the session of eighteen
hundred and twenty-one, chapter two hundred and
forty-nine, as authorises the acknowledgments of deeds
or other instruments of writing to taken before justices
therein described, be, and the same is hereby repealed.

Repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That the act entitled, an
act to authorise the appointment of justices of the peace
in the city of Baltimore, with limited jurisdiction,
passed at the session of eighteen hundred and twenty-five,
chapter one hundred and eighty-nine, wherein
certain extra powers were conferred on such justice,
be, and the same is hereby repealed.

Proviso.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted,
That all deeds of lands
situate in Baltimore county, which before the passage
of this act, shall have been acknowledged before justices
of the peace for the city of Baltimore, and all deeds
of lands situate in the city of Baltimore, which, before
the passage of this act, shall have been acknowledged
before justices of the peace for Baltimore county, shall
be, and they are hereby declared to be as valid and effectual
as if the said justices of the peace had been duly
authorised to take such acknowledgments; Provided,
however, that the said deeds have been in all other respects
executed and acknowledged in conformity to the
