to the Govanstown Academy, as may, in their
judgment, best attain the prosperity of said Academy,
and to execute all proper and needful conveyance or
conveyances therefor, and receive and appropriate the
rents, that may thus accrue, for the benefit of said
Academy.

effect from and after its passage.

CHAPTER
13.
AN ACT to authorise the Courts of this State to admit
Alexander Wolff to practice Law therein.
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, Alexander Wolff, a resident
of the city
of Baltimore has represented that, being born an alien
he did, in the year eighteen hundred and fifty-one,
make his declaration of an intention to become a citizen
of the United States, conformably to the act of Congress
in such case provided, and has petitioned that he
may be admitted to practice Law in this State, notwithstanding
he has not yet become such citizen.

Courts authorised
to admit.
|
Be it enacted by the General
Assembly of Maryland,
That the several courts of Maryland are hereby
authorised to admit Alexander Wolff to practice
the profession of Law, although not yet a citizen
of the United States, if deemed by the said courts
otherwise qualified.

CHAPTER
14.
AN ACT to lay off, open and locate a Public Road in
Kent county from Chester Town to Quaker Neck.

appointed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That George B. Westcott, Ebenezer
Welch, and James H. Edes, of Kent county be, and
are hereby appointed commissioners, and they, or a majority
of them, shall have power to enter upon, survey,
open, lay off and locate a road in Kent county, beginning
at or near the negro meeting house near Princess
or Queen street in Chester Town, and running by and
