bed, board and mutual cohabitation with his wife Lydia Shanks.

    Claim and
accountability
annulled.
    2.  And be it enacted, That the said Lydia Shanks shall not
by virtue of her marriage with the said John T. Shanks, be authorised
to have or claim any right or interest in the estate,
real, personal or mixed, of the said John T. Shanks, to be by
him acquired after the passage of this act; nor shall the said
John, be liable for any debts which may be contracted by the
said Lydia after the passage of this act.

                                            CHAPTER 107.

An act to lay out and open a road from the town of Westminster, in
    Frederick county, to the city of Washington and George Town.

Preamble.     WHEREAS, it is represented to this general assembly, by
sundry citizens of Maryland, that it would be of advantage to
themselves and the public in general, to have a road laid out
and opened from Westminster, in Frederick county, to the city
of Washington and George Town; Therefore,
Commissioners
to open,
&c.
    Sec. 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Joshua Gist and Abraham Wampler of Frederick county,
and James Hood, (of John) and Robert Tevis Mercer of Baltimore
county, and Thomas Hood and Samuel Gaither of Anne
Arundel county, and Thomas Davis and Richard H. Griffith of
Montgomery county, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners
to survey, lay out and open a road, not exceeding
thirty feet in width the best and straightest direction, taking
all circumstances into consideration, from the east end of Westminster
in Frederick county, (where the deer park road leaves
the turnpike road,) through Brookville in Montgomery county,
to the city of Washington and George Town, and the said commissioners
shall make out a plot of that part of the road through
Frederick county, and through Baltimore county, and return
the same to the clerk of the county court, to be recorded among
the records of said county, they shall also made out a plot of
that part of the road through Anne Arundel  county, and return
the same to the clerk of Anne Arundel county court, to be recorded
among the records of said county, they shall likewise
make out a plot of that part of the road through Montgomery/
county, and return the same to the clerk of Montgomery county
court, to be recorded among the records of said county; and the
said road, when so opened shall be thereafter deemed to be a 
public road forever, and shall be kept in repair in the same manner
as other public roads are directed to be kept in said counties.
Levy for expences.     2.  And be it enacted, That the expenses of surveying and
opening the said road shall be paid by the several counties
through which it may be located, in proportion to the distance
it may pass through each county, and the levy courts of said
