RESOLUTIONS.
county, on a judgment obtainded by the state of Maryland
against Benjamin Gaither, late sheriff of said county; and
whereas it hath been made appear to this general assembly that
John M. Gaither of said county is equitably entitled to the said
land; Therefore,
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all
claim of the state against said land be, and the same is hereby
relinquished and transferred to the said John M. Gaither, and that
the sheriff of Anne Arundel county be, and he is hereby directed
to release the same from the said execution, provided that
this resolution shall not be construed to discharge the said Benjamin
Gaither, or his securities from the said judgment, and provided
that the state does not hereby relinquish any claim or lien
which it may have on the said land, by virtue of its said judgement,
for the residue of the purchase money due therefor, from
the said John M. Gaither, to the said Benjamin Gaither.

Resolved, That the register of the land office
issue to Benjamin
Marshall of Frederick county, a warrant for fifty acres of
land to be located on any unappropriated land belonging to this
state in Allegany county, heretofore unpatented, as a donation
granted by this state to the revolutionary soldiers who served
in the Maryland line during the revolutionary war, and to which
they consider him entitled.
