Preamble.

RESOLUTIONS.
No. 32.
Whereas the late Sutton I. Weems, esquire, a member of
the
last General Assembly, from Calvert county, was, whilst at the
seat of government, attacked with a disease which confined him
in this city from the twenty-sixth of February, the day the legislature
rose, until the twentieth of March last, when he died; and
as it has been usual, and it is right and proper, that the legal
representatives of persons thus situated, shall receive a per
diem for the number of days they were so confined, previous to
their deaths: Therefore,

Weems, Esq.
|
Resolved by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the treasurer
of the Western Shore, pay to the executors or administrators
of the late Sutton I. Weems, esquire, the sum of eighty-eight
dollars, the amount of his per diem, from the twenty-sixth of
February, eighteen hundred and twenty-five, until the twentieth
of March last, and that his funeral expenses be placed upon the
journal of accounts.

Samuel Bradford.

No. 33.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore,
in the
final settlement of the accounts of Samuel Bradford, late sheriff
of Harford county, allow him the usual commissions for collecting
public monies for the year eighteen hundred and twenty-four,
and also release him from the payment of interest on the
balance of his account for the same year.

Repairs of
State House.

No. 34.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore,
be, and
he is hereby authorised to pay out of any unappropriated monies
now in the treasury, a sum not exceeding four hundred dollars,
to the order of the executive to be expended, under their
direction, for such repairs as may be found necessary to stop or
prevent a leak, which it appears to this house now exists, either
in the roof or dome of the state house and in purchasing such
desks, tables, chairs, and other furniture, as may in their judgment
be necessary for the chamber now occupied by the court of
appeals.

No. 35.
Resolved, That the attorney prosecuting for the
state in
Queen Anne's county court, be, and he is hereby directed, to
have the suit instituted on the part of the state, in said court,
against Philomon B. Hopper, executor of the last will and testament
of Henry Darden, struck off, and the same be discontinued
upon Philomon B. Hopper paying costs of said suit.
