Ordered, That the Senate proceed to receive nomi-
nations for Treasurer of the State.
Which was adopted.
NOMINATION OF STATE TREASURER.
Mr. Robinson nominated Hon. Murray Vandiver.
The nomination was seconded by Mr. Perkins.
Mr. Thomas nominated Hon. Thos. J. Shryock.
The nomination was seconded by Mr. McCullough.
On motion of Mr. Biddison,
The nominations were closed.
Mr. Robinson submitted the following message:
BY THE SENATE,
January 14th, 1904.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:
We propose, with the concurrence of your Honor-
able Body, to proceed with the election of the State
Treasurer on Thursday, January 14th, 1904, at 12:15
o'clock p. m. We have nominated on the part of the
Senate, Hon. Murray Vandiver and Thomas J.
Shryock and have appointed as tellers on the part of
the Senate Messrs. Gill and Thomas, who are to re-
ceive the vote of the Senate and in connection with
the tellers to be appointed by your Honorable Body,
to connt the same.
