ORDERS.
On motion of Mr. McCullough, it was
Ordered, That Senator Dixon be excused from at-
tendance at last night's session.
Mr. Gorman offered the following message:
BY THE SENATE,
January 13th, 1904.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:
We respectfully invite you to be present in the
Senate Chamber at 12 o'clock Meridian, to-day, to
participate with us in the inauguration of the Gov-
ernor-elect, and to witness the administration of the
oath to him by the Chief Judge of the Court of Ap-
peals, in compliance with the requirements of the
Constitution and laws of the State.
We will appoint a committee to wait upon your
Honorable Body and conduct yon to the Senate Cham-
ber.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the House
of Delegates.
The President appointed Senators Gorman and
McCullough to escort the House of Delegates to the
Senate Chamber, and Senators Gill and Devilbiss, to
escort the Court of Appeals to the Senate Chamber to
witness the inauguration.
At 11.20 a. m.,
On motion of Mr. Moore,
The Senate took a recess until 11.50 a. m.
At 11.50 a. m ,
The Senate resumed session.
The Chief Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared
and delivered the following message :
