942 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 25,

Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on
Claims be, and he is hereby authorized and directed
to issue his certificate to F. E. Watlien, to A. O. D.
Hayward, to W. Meade Holladay and to Will J.
Guard, Senate Reporters, for the sum of one hundred,
and fifty ($150.00) dollars each, for reporting the pro-
ceedings of the Senate for the Session of 1892.

The order was read and adopted.

And, unfavorably,

Ordered, That the State Printer print and bind in
paper one thousand copies of the Report of the State
Tax Commissioner, the cost of the printing to be as
provided for in the Code, the cost of binding to be
charged for at a fair market price, provided that the
entire cost of printing and binding shall not exceed
the sum of $150.

Which was adox>ted.

Also, reported,

Senate bill entitled an Act to add a new Article to
the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, to-
stand as Article 16 A, of the same, under the title
"Civil Service,"

With recommendation that said bill be referred to
the Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

Which was considered, and so referred.

And, unfavorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money for the support of the House for Mothers and
Infants Ox Baltimore city.

Which was considered, and,
On motion by Mr. Gorter,

Said bill was substituted for the report.

Said bill was read the second time, and ordered to
be engrossed for a third reading.

And made the Order of the Day for Tuesday, March
29th, at 2 P. M.

Mr. Smith, from the Committtee on Elections, re-
ported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments, section 3. of chapter 538, of the
Code of Public General Laws of. Maryland, title
"Elections."
