1892.] OF THE SENATE. 941

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to pay Lewis H. Rehn, the sum of one hundred
and twenty-two dollars and seventy-live cents, as
commission on money collected by him as collector
and treasurer of the city of Annapolis, from appli-
cants for liquor licenses and paid by him to the State
of Maryland.

House bill entitled an Act to refund to William S.
Gordy, late collector of taxes for Wicomico county a
certain sum of money erroneously paid by him into
the Treasury.

Which were read the second time.

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Comp-
troller to pay to the Westminster Water Company
taxes paid to the Treasurer erroneously by said Com-
pany,

With the following proposed amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out "thirty-seven dollars and fifty-two cents,"
in line 3 of title, and add "twenty-four dollars and
seventy-five cents."

After the word "taxes," in line 3 of title, add "for
1884, 1885, 1886 and 1887."

Strike out in line 5, section 1, "thirty-seven dollars
and fifty-two cents," and insert "twenty-four dollars
and seventy-five cents."

After word "taxes," in line 6, section 1, add "for
years 1884, 1885, 1886 and 1887."

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time.

Mr. Hayes, from the Committee on Finance, re-
ported favorably,

Ordered by the Senate, That the Chairman of the
Committee on Claims issue Ms warrant in favor of
Captain T. C. B. Howard for the sum of nine dollars,
being the amount expended by said Captain Howard
in conveying the remains of the late Senator Talbott,
of Calvert county.

Which was adopted.

Also, without recommendation, from the Committee
