REPORTS OF SELECT COMMITTEFS.

Mr. Austin, from a Select Committee, reported fav-
orably,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Clerk of
the Circuit Court of Dorchester county to make or
have made a general index of said county, and to pro-
vide for the payment therefor,

With the following proposed amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 2, in line 2, strikeout "12 1/2" and insert "9."

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time.

Mr. Posey, from a Select Committee, reported fav-
orably,

House bill entitled an Act to amend section 3, of
Article 9, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Charles County," sub-title "Almshouse," to regulate
the appointment of Trustees of the Poor.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Hayes, from a Select Committee, reported fav-
orably, the following bills :

House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
section 1, of Article 76, of the Code of Public, General
Laws, with amendments.

With the following proposed amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Insert after the words "designated," at the end of
section 2, the following: "Provided, that the amount
paid the paper that makes a specialty of law matters,
as herein provided for, it shall not be more than
three hundred dollars, the same to be paid out of the
amount appropriated for the payment of the publi-
cation of said laws for Baltimore city."

Change "section 3," in the bill, "to section 2."

Which were adopted.

Said bill was then read the third time, and passed
by yeas and nays, as follows, with proposed amend-
ments:
