By Mr. Posey, the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 37, ef
the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Comp-
troller," sub-title "Unsettled Balances," and to re-
enact the same with amendments.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to erect a monument to mark the grave of
General William Smallwood, in Charles county, Mary-
land.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Finance.

By Mr. Hepbron,

Senate bill entitled an Act to add two new sections'
to Article 15, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Kent County," sub-title "County Commissioners,"
to follow immediately after sections 87, and to be
designated as 'Sections 87 A, and 87 B.'

Which was read the first time, and referred to
Messrs. Hepbron, Wirt and Wootton.

By Mr. Toadvin,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 193, of
Article 16, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Chancery," sub-title "Sales," and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

Mr. Wootton, from the Committee on Agriculture,
and Labor, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to give the Legislative
assent of the State of Maryland to the Act of Congress
entitled an Act to apply a portion of the proceeds of
the more complete endowment and support of the col-
leges for the benefit of agriculture and the mechanic,
arts.

Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
