800 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 18,

Mr. Wootton, from a Select Committee, reported
favorably, the following bills:

House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the town
of Laytonsville, in Montgomery county.

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Commis-
sioners of Brookville, in Montgomery county, to incur
a debt to Dave the side-walks of said town.

Which was read the second time.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 61 and
64, of Article 16, of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title "Montgomery County," sub-title "County Com-
missioners," and sections 124, 125, 126, of said Article
16, sub-title "Jurors."

With the following proposed amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 1, at the end of 61, add the following:

"If of the five persons having the highest number of
votes two or more shall be residents of the same col-
lection district, the person in said district having the
highest number of votes shall be declared elected, and
the persons in the respective districts having the
highest number of votes shall constitute the Board of
County Commissioners."

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time.

Mr. Waters, from a Select Committee, reported fav-
orably,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the refund-
ing of certain fines illegally imposed upon Geor e M.
France, for violation of local oyster law of Somerset
County.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Wirt, from a Select Committee, reported fav-
orably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 412, of
Article 8, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Cecil County," sub-title "Sales of Spirituous or Fer-
Liquors," as enacted by chapter 474 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, 1890, and re-enact the
same with amendments.

Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
