Senate met at 12 M.
Prayer by Rev. Mr. McDowell.
Present at roll-call the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Austin, Bennett, Brown, Coffin,
Dawson, Evans, Getty, Gorter, Hayes, Hepbron, Hub-
ner, Moss, Pearre, Posey, Robinson, Rogers, Seibert,
Smith, Toadvin, Waters, Wilkinson, Wirt, Wootton

Proceedings of yesterday's session read and ap-
proved.

PETITIONS, MEMORIALS, &c.

Mr. Lloyd presented the memorial of 50 colored
citizens of Annapolis, in reference to the education of
that class.

Which was read, and referred to the Committe on
Education.

Mr. Waters presented the memorial of 91 citizens of
Somerset county, protesting against the passage of a
law prohibiting the use of fyke or pound-nets in the
waters of Monie Bay.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr. Seibert presented the memorial of Martin A.
Reeder, and 60 other citizens of Creagerstown, Fred-
erick county, praying that the sale of beer, ale and
spirituous liquors be prohibited within one mile of
the Public Square.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Temperance.
