ORDERS.

On motion by Mr. Wirt, it was
Ordered, That Senators Brown, Coffin, Dawson,,
Evans, Hubner, Newman, Robinson and the Presi-
dent, be excused from attendance on to-days session
of the Senate.

INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.

By Mr. Hayes, the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to pay the claim of
James Loang.

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to reimburse the Commissioners appointed to
erect upon the battle-field of Gettysburg, monuments
to mark the positions occupied by the Maryland
commands that participated in said battle, the amount
expended by them in the prosecution of the work as-
signed them over and above the amount appropriated
therefor.

Which were read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Finance.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 1, of
chapter 395, of the Acts of 1888, entitled an Act to
repeal section 1, of chapter 485, of the Acts of 1884,
entitled an Act to prohibit the creation in future of
irredeemable ground rents and to regulate the leasing
of lauds and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read the first time, and referred, to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS—THIRD READING.

Senate bill entitled an Act to extend the charter of

Mount Savage Lodge, No. 43, Independent Order of

Odd Fellows, granted by the General Assembly of

Maryland at its December Session, 1844, chapter 293,

and to grant additional powers to said corporations

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and

nays, as follows:
