MONDAY, March 14th, 1892.
Senate met at 8 P. M.

In the absence of the President, the Senate was
called to order by the Secretary.

Prayer by Rev. Mr. Steele.

After which the Secretary informed the Senate that

the President was absent from the Seat of Government.

The Senate proceeded to the election of a President

pro tem.

Mr. Gorter nominated Hon. Thomas G. Hayes.

The motion being put by the Secretary,

proved.

PETITIONS, MEMORIALS, &o.

Mr. Rogers presented the memorial of Edward
Norris, H. R. Hazlehurst and 110 other citizens in
Ellicott City, Howard county, protesting against the
introduction oi the sale of intoxicating liquors in
Ellicott City.

Which was read, and referred to Messrs. Rogers,
Moss and Robinson.

Mr. Waters presented the memorial of citizens of
Tangier District, Somerset county, praying for a
change of the scraping laws in Manokins River.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.
