Therefore, be it resolved by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer of the State be and
he is hereby authorized to destroy the bonds of the
Exchange Loan of 1889, acquired as aforesaid, amount-
ing to one million two hundred and forty-two thou-
sand three hundred dollars, with the coupons attached
thereto, due on and after July 1st, 1892, and held by
the Treasurer for the use of the sinking fund for said
loan, in the presence of Thomas G. Hayes, committee
on the part of the Senate, and James G. Berret and
Philip D. Laird, committee on the part of the House
of Delegates, and their certificate in writing to that
effect shall be a full discharge of the said Treasurer;
and that the debt of the State shall be credited with
the amount of said bonds so destroyed and reduced to
the extent thereof.

JOINT RESOLUTION

Authorizing the destruction of bonds known as the
Treasury Relief Loan Bonds held by the Treasurer
for the sinking funds, and the transfer of stocks and
bonds from the sinking fund known as the Treasury
Relief Loan Sinking Fund to the Defense Redemp-
tion Loan Sinking Fund.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Treasurer of the State be, and he is hereby
authorized to destroy all bonds of the Treasury Relief
Loan Fund under chapter 238, of the Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland of 1878, amounting to five
hundred thousand dollars, with the coupons attached
thereto, due July 1st, 1892, and thereafter, now in
his hands for the use of the several sinking funds, in
the presence of Thomas G. Hayes, Committee on the
part of the Senate, and James G. Berret and Philip D.
Laird, Committee on the part of the House of Dele-
gates, and their certificate in writing to that effect
shall be a full discharge of the said Treasurer.

Resolved further, That the Comptroller of the
Treasury and Treasurer be authorized to transfer
whatever other stocks, bonds, together with any cash
remaining to the credit of said Treasury Relief Loan
Sinking Fund to the Defense Redemption Loan Sink-
ing Fund.
