Statutes of the United States; and that the said Joint
Assembly, after proceeding as heretofore ordered,
with the business of electing a Senator in Congress
from this State in succession to Hon Arthur P. Gor-
man, shall proceed in accordance with the provisions
of title 2, chapter 1, of said Revised Statutes, with the
business of electing a Senator in Congress from this
State to fill the vacancy for the term ending on the
4th day of March, 1897, caused by the death of the
Hon. Ephraim K. Wilson; and we concur therein.

Which, was read, assented to and sent to the House
of Delegates.

REPORTS OF SELECT COMMITTEES.

Mr. Gorter, from the Select Committee, reported
favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Board
of Police Commissioners for the city of Baltimore, to
increase the pension of James M. Moore, a retired
patrolman of the Police Force of Baltimore city, with
the following proposed amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out all of section 1.

In section 2, strike out the figure "2" after the
word "section, " and insert the figure "1" in the place
thereof.

And in section 3, strike out the figure "3" after the
word "section, " and insert the figure "2" in the place
thereof.

Which was adopted, and

Said till, as amended, was then read the second
time, and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments, section 3, of Article 21, of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Conveyancing. "

Which had been heretofore reported from the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings with an amend-
ment, and ordered to lie over.
