ORDER OF THE DAY.

The hour of 1 P. M. having arrived, the President
announced the Order of the Day to be the considera-
tion of

House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
section 1, Article 76, of the Code of Public General
Laws, with amendments.
Which was considered.

Mr. Waters moved to strikeout the enacting clause.
Which was determined in the negative, by yeas
and nays, as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Evans, Waters—8.

NEGATIVE,

Said bill was referred to the Baltimore City Sena-
tors.

REPORTS OF SELECT COMMITTEES.

Mr. Seibert, from a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Burgess
and Commissioners of Middletown, Frederick county,
to issue bonds for the purpose of constructing,
operating and keeping in repair water-works for said
town.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Hayes, from a Select Committee, reported fav-
orably, the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to add six new sections
to Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"City of Baltimore, " sub-title "Liquor and Intoxi-
