On motion by Mr. Wirt,

Mr. Talbott was then duly qualified as Senator from
Calvert county.

The Senate then proceeded to the election of Presi-
dent.

Mr. Hayes nominated the Hon. Edward Lloyd, of
Talbot county.

The nomination was seconded by Mr. Wirt and Mr.
Getty.

Mr. Wilkinson nominated the Hon. Adrian Posey,
of Charles county.

The nomination was seconded by Mr. Coffin.

ELECTION OF PRESIDENT.

Mr. Austin named Hon. Edward Lloyd,
Mr. Brown named Hon. Edward Lloyd-
Mr. Coffin named Hon. Adrian Posey.
Mr. Dawson named Hon. Edward Lloyd,
Mr. Evans named Hon. Edward Lloyd.
Mr. Getty named Hon. Edward Lloyd.
Mr. Gorter named Hon. Edward Lloyd.
Mr. Hayes named Hon. Edward Lloyd.
Mr. Hepbron named Hon. Edward Lloyd,
