Said resolution, as amended, was read the second
time.
Mr. Brown, from the Committee on Judicial Pro-
ceedings reported favorably the following bills:
Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments section 201, 202, 203, 204, 205 and
206, of Article 27, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Crimes and Punishments, " sub-title "Mineral
Waters, Porter and other Beverages. "
Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
Senate bill entitled an Act to add a section to
Article 66, of the Code of Public General laws, title
"Mortgages, " to be numbered 24, providing that the
title to all promissory notes, secured by mortgages or
deed, shall after maturity of said notes, be pre-
sumed to be vested in the person holding the record
title to such mortgage or deed.
With the following proposed amendments.
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Amend the title by striking out the words "and,
negotiably, " in the third line thereof, and by in-
serting after the word "instruments, " in said line, the
words "or debts. "
Amend the title by striking out the words "or and
negotiable, " in the 9th line-thereof, and insert after
the word " instruments, " in said line, the words "or
debts; " also, strike out the word "cancelled, " in the
9th line, and insert in lieu thereof the word "paid. "
Amend section 1 by inserting after the figure 1 the
following:
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That an additional section be added to Article
sixty-six, of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, title "Mortgages, " to be numbered 25, and
to read as follows:
Amend section 1 by striking out the word "mort-
gages, " in the first line thereof, also strike out the
word "hereafter, " in the same line; strike out the
word "executive, " in second line, and insert in lieu
of said words "hereafter executed, " the words "or
debt; " insert after the words "in the nature of amort-
gage, " in same line, the words "hereafter executed. "
