AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

In line 3, of section 1, insert after the word "dollars, "
the following words: "in favor of Thomas and Evans.

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time.

Also, unfavorably, the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to pay the claim of Rev. E. W. Wroth for
stock slaughtered at the instance and advice of the
State Veterinary Surgeon.

Senate bill entitled an Act to establish a museum of
general and natural history to be known as the "'Mary-
land State Museum,

Which were adopted.

Mr. Brown, from the Committee on Judicial Pro-
ceedings, reported favorably, the following bills:

House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 37, of
Article 19, of the Code of Public General Laws.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 51, of
Article 27, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Crimes and Punishments, " sub-title "Destroying
Property Maliciously, " and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 165, of
Article 27, of the Code of Public General Laws, en-
titled "Crimes and Punishments, " and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 52, of
Article 77, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Crimes and Punishments, " sub-title "Destroying
Property Maliciously, " and to re enact the same with
amendments,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 2, of
Article 36, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Fees of Officers, " and to re-enact the same with,
amendments.

House bill entitled an Act to cede to the United
States jurisdiction over certain lands at or near the
Antietam battle field.

House bill entitled an Act to sanction the devise by
Sarah Ann Taylor, late of Charles county, of certain
real estate, to the Vestry of Durham Parish of the
Protestant Episcopal Church of said county.
Which were severally read the second time.
