REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

Mr. Hayes, from the Committee on Finance, re-
ported favorably, the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 131, of
Article 81, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Revenue and Taxes, " sub-title Assessment of Cor-
porate Stock owned by non-residents, " and to re-
enact with amendments.

Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments chapter 400, of the Laws of 1886,
entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
Board of Managers of the Maryland Hospital for the
Insane to sell and convey certain land lying between
the bed of the Catonsville Short Line Railroad Com-
pany and the Frederick Turnpike, and to purchase in
lieu thereof other land more available for the purpose
of the hospital.

Which was considered.

Mr. Hayes submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out so much of title as it reads, "to purchase
in lieu thereof other land more available for the pur-
pose of the hospital. "

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate two hun-
dred dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary,
to repair and put in good condition the State Hay and
Cattle Scales at Havre de Grace.

House bill entitled an Act to refund to Ross Comp-
ton, late collector of taxes for Garrett county, the
amount over paid by him into the Treasury of the
State of Maryland for the years 1888 and 1889.

Which, were read the second time.

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to pay Thomas and Evans for furnishing copies
and extracts of the election laws, under sections 138
and 160, chapter 538, of the Acts of 1890.

With the following proposed amendment:
