Amend by striking out in the 7th line of written
bill the words "Section 2. And be it enacted, " and
inserting in lieu thereof the following, "424 B. "

Amend by striking out in the 11th line of written
bill the words "Section 3. And be it enacted, " and
inserting in lieu thereof the following, "424 C. "

Amend by striking out in the 19th line of written
bill the words "Section 4. And be it enacted, " and
inserting in lieu thereof, "424 D. "

Amend by striking out in the 22d line of written
bill the words "Section 5. And be it enacted, " and
inserting in lieu thereof, "424 E. "

Amend by striking out in the 28th line of printed,
bill the words following: "Section 6. And be it en-
acted, " and inserting in lieu thereof the following,
"424 F. "

Amend by adding the following section to the said
bill, to follow the 35th line thereof:

"Section 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage. "

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading,

Mr. Hayes, from the Committee on Finance, reported.
favorably the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to assist in defraying the expenses incurred in
erecting a monument on the battle ground of Antietam
to the soldiers of the 5th Regiment, Maryland Volun-
teers.

Which was read the second time, and ordered to
be engrossed for a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to increase the salaries
of the judges of this State.

Which was considered, and,
On motion of Mr. Pearre,

Said bill was referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to pay William H. Ford, Collector of State
Taxes in Kent county, the amount over-paid by him.

Which was read the second time.
