Add another section, to be designated as "section
14, " and to come in after section 13, and to read as
follows:

"Sec. 14. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage. "

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Brown, from the Committee on Judicial Pro-
ceedings, reported favorably the following bills:

House bill entitled an Act to add an additional sec-
tion to Article 93, of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Testamentary Law, " sub-title "Orphans'
Court, " and to be called "Section 227 A. "

Which was read the second time.

Senate bill entitled an Act for the identification of
habitual criminals.

With the following proposed amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

By striking out all after the word "Act, " and amend
the titling by inserting in the place thereof the fol-
lowing:

"To amend Article 27 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws, title 'Crimes and Punishments, ' sub-title
'Convicts, ' adding thereto six sections, to come in
after section 424, to be designated sections 424 A, 424
B, 424 C, 424 D, 424 E and 424 F, relating to the iden-
tification of habitual criminals. "

Amend by inserting immediately after the titling
the following:

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, that Article twenty seven, of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and Punish-
ments, " sub-title "Convicts, " be amended by adding
six additional sections thereto, to come in after sec-
tion 424, and to be numbered respectively 424 A, 424
B, 424 C, 424 D, 424 E and 424 F, relating to the
identification of habitual criminals, and to read re-
spectively as follows.

Amend by striking out in the first line of the writ-
ten bill the words "Section 1. Be it enacted by the
General Assembly of Maryland, " and inserting in
lieu thereof the following, "424 A. ".
