360 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 25,

land, entitled "Carroll County, " sub-title "Taney-
town, " and to re-enact the same so as to read as fol-
lows:

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and em-
power the Burgess and Commissioners of Taneytown
to make a contract with any body corporate or Joint
Stock Water Company that may hereafter be formed
in Taneytown for the supply of water to said town,
and erection of fire plugs or hydrants, and to levy
taxes to pay said company according to the terms of
said contract, and to provide for the submission of
this Act to the qualified voters of said town.

Which were read the first time, and referred to
Messrs. Bennett, Robinson and Newman.

Senate bill entitled an Act giving the sanction to
a bequest of Savilla Bankard, late of Carroll county.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

By Mr. Gorter, the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to give and grant the
sanction and consent of the General Assembly to a
lease from Thomas Winans, to the German Evan-
gelical Lutheran Saint Mark's Congregation

Senate bill entitled an Act to sanction the bequest
of one thousand dollars to the Evangelical Lutheran
Church, worshiping in Luther Chapel, Baltimore, Md.,
contained in the last will and testament of Leah
Whitaker, deceased.

Which were read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

By Mr. Hubner,

Senate bill entitled an Act to regulate the practice
of medicine and surgery in Maryland for non-resident
practitioners.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Sanitary Condition of the State.

By Mr. Evans,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with additional amendments sections 39, 40, 41, 42, 43,
44, 45, 46 and 47, of Article 43, of the Code of Public
General Laws, title "Health" sub-title "Practitioners
of Medicine. "
