ORDERS.

Mr. Hubner submitted the following:

Ordered, That the Attorney-General be and he is
hereby requested to furnish his opinion upon the fol-
lowing question:

Can the present session of the General Assembly
constitutionally enact any law under the provisions of
the amendment of section 1, of Article 7, of the Con-
stitution, presenting for any of those County Com-
missioners who were elected in November last, terms
of service which shall continue beyond the period of
two years.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Judicial Proceedings.

INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.

By Mr. Austin,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 1 to
27 inclusive, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Dorchester County, " sub-title "Alms House, " and
to enact the following in lieu thereof, giving the
Commissioners of the county exclusive management
of said Alms House.

Which was read the first time, and referred to
Messrs. Austin, Brown and Dawson.

By Mr. Rogers,

Senate bill entitled an Act to establish a free bridge
over the Patapsco river, between Baltimore and
Howard counties, at a point near to Orange Grove,
and to authorize the Commissioners of Baltimore
county to levy a tax to the amount of $15, 000, and to
authorize the Commissioners of Howard county to
issue bonds to the amount of $15, 000, to be expended
in the construction of said bridge and the acquisition
of the necessary land adjoining it, and to authorize
the condemnation of such land, and to authorize the
levying of taxes by the respective counties to provide
for the payment of said bonds with interest, and for
the keeping said bridge in repair, and to provide for
the opening of roads to afford access to said bridge.
