All of which were issued directly to said companies
respectively; and I also received the duplicate receipts
of said retiring Treasurer under which said deposits
were made, and I did furthermore receive of said for-
mer and retiring Treasurer the two keys of the box
rented by the State from the Safe Deposit and Trust
Company of Baltimore, held by him, but neither of
which could open said box or vault without one of the
keys held by the Governor and Comptroller, respec-
tively, being used first therefor.
And I, the said Spencer C. Jones, Treasurer, as
aforesaid, did furthermore receive of said Edwin H.
Brown, former and retiring Treasurer, as aforesaid, in
the deposit in the Farmers' National Bank of Annap-
lis, to the credit of the State of Maryland, the sum of
$164, 121. 45, and in the deposit in the Farmers and
Merchants' National Bank of Baltimore, to the credit
of the State of Maryland, the sum of $384, 549. 34, and
this receipt is executed in "Triplicate. "

the delivery unto Spencer C. Jones, Treasurer of
Maryland, of the bonds, certificates and property
enumerated and specified in the aforegoing statement
and receipt by Edwin H. Brown, the former and retir-
ing Treasurer; and I did witness the signing of said
receipt by said Treasurer.
