BY THE SENATE,

January 12th. 1892.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We respectfully propose, with the concurrence of
your Honorable Body, that all bills, leaves to intro-
duce bills to sanction bequests, devises, sales, gifts
or conveyances to religious objects, be referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings of the respective
Houses, and that said Committee acting jointly be,.
and, they are hereby instructed to report on March
17th, a general bill, embracing all such bills and leaves,
except where there is a special reason for more speedy
action, in which case separate bills may be introduced,

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the House
of Delegates.

The Hon. Edward W, LeCompte, Secretary of State,
appeared and delivered a communication from the
Executive.

At 12. 50 P: M.,

On motion by Mr. Robinson,
The Senate went into executive session.
At 1. 10 P. M.,

The Senate resumed the consideration of legislative
business.

And on motion by Mr. Hubner,
The Senate adjourned.

WEDNESDAY, January 13th, 1892.

Senate met at 11 A. M.

Prayer by Rev. Mr. Andrew.

Present at roll-call the following Senators:

Messrs. President, Austin, Bennett, Brown, Coffin,
Dawson, Evans, Getty, Gorter, Hayes, Hebron, Moss,
Newman, Pearre, Posey, Robinson, Rogers, Seibert,
Smith, Talbott, Toadvin, Waters, Wirt, Wootton—24.
