Mr. Hayes, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably, the following bills:
Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the proper
indexing of the journals and volume of laws of the
General Assembly.
With the following proposed amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Strike out after the words "A bill" and insert as
follows:
"Entitled an Act to provide for the indexing of
the Senate journals, the volumes of the Senate printed
bills and Senate documents in the office of the Secre-
tary of the Senate.
"Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Secretary of the Senate shall
provide an index to the journal of the Senate of the
present Session of the General Assembly, to be pub-
lished and bound with the journal after the close of
the present Session, and he shall also provide an index
to the volumes of Senate printed bills that are bound
and placed in the State Library, at the close of the
session, and to any Senate documents that may be
printed and bound in book form.
"Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the person who shall be the Secretary of the Senate,
at each ensuing session of the General Assembly, to
make the indexes provided for in the first section of
this Act, to the Senate journals and the volumes of
printed bills and Senate documents of said ensuing
session.
