The memorial of A. J. Schofield and 99 other citi-
zens of Cecil county, protesting against any change in
the fish laws of Cecil county.

Which were read, and referred to Messrs. Wirt,
Hepbron and Smith.

Also,

The memorial of the Normal School of Rising Sun,
Cecil county, for an annual appropriation of $500 for
said institution.

Which was read, and referred to Messrs. Wirt,
Hepbron and Smith.

ORDERS.

On motion by Mr. Hepbron, it was
Ordered, That Senators Bennett, Dawson, Hubner,
Posey, Rogers, Talbott and Wilkinson be excused
from attendance on to-day's session of the Senate.

INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.

By Mr. Gorter, the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to add an additional sec-
tion to Article 4 of the Constitution of this State.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Amendments to the Constitution of the
State.

Senate bill entitled an Act for the identification of
Habitual Criminals.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

Senate bill entitled an Act authorizing the Board of
Directors of the Maryland Penitentiary to draw from the
Treasury an unexpended balance of $9, 119. 28, appro-
priated by the Act of 1890, chapter 74, and apply same
to paving roadways within the prison walls and making
other improvements in and on said penitentiary prop-
erty.

Senate bill entitled an Act to increase the salaries
of the Judges of this State,

Which were read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Finance.
