and journalists, praying relief of the sureties of Ste-
venson Archer.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Finance.
Also by Mr. Robinson, the memorial of citizens and
editors of newspapers of Maryland, praying relief of
the sureties of Stevenson Archer,
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Finance.
Mr. Gorter presented the memorial from seventy-
one citizens of Baltimore city, asking the establish-
ment of a State Weather Service, and an appropri-
ation of two thousand dollars.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Finance.
ORDERS.
Mr. Hayes submitted the following:
Whereas, by the terms and provisions of the Act of
1890, chapter 571, the Committees on Finance of the
Senate, and Ways and Means of the- House of
Delegates, within the first month of the Session of the
General Assembly are required jointly to visit the re-
pository of the State securities in Baltimore city and
to examine and count the same, and to burn the
securities, bonds or certificates of the overdue debt of
the State, and to perform certain other duties named
in said Act; therefore, be it ordered by the Senate,
that the expenses attending said committees, visit to
Baltimore, in the performance of the aforesaid duties,
be defrayed and paid by the Slate, and that the
Chairman of the Committee of Claims be, and he is
hereby ordered to draw his warrant upon the Comp-
troller for the amount actually expended on said visit
by said committees in the performance of the afore-
said duties, on vouchers countersigned as correct by
the chairman of said committees.

Finance.
