Evans and Gorter.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the, House
of Delegates.

Mr, Toadvin, presented the following:

BY THE SENATE,

January 29th, 1892.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We concur with your Honorable Body in the ap-
pointment of a Joint Select Committee, to consist of
two on the part of the House of Delegates and two on
the part of the Senate, to visit any institution or fac-
tory where binder cord is manufactured and collect
all the facts relating thereto as to the care of 'ma-
chinery, &c., and to report to this Legislature the
advisability of establishing it in the Maryland Peni-
tentiary, as recommended by Gov. E. E. Jackson in
Ms recent message.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate,
Messrs. Toadvin and Newman.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the House
of Delegates.

On motion by Mr. Wirt, at 2. 20 F. M.,

The Senate adjourned.

MONDAY, February 1st, 1892.

Senate met at 8 P. M.

In the absence of the President the Senate was
called to order by the Secretary.

Prayer by Rev. Mr. Andrew.

After which the Secretary informed the Senate that
the President was absent from the seat of government.

The Senate proceeded to the election of a President
pro tem.

Mr. Wirt nominated Hon. Edward Wootton.
