The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and
delivered the folio wing bills:

House bill entitled an Act giving the sanction of
the General Assembly of Maryland to the acquisition
of the leasehold interest in n lot of ground in Balti-
more city.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 2, of
chapter 95, of the Acts of 1858.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Corporations,

House bill entitled an Act to provide for the ap-
pointment of Notaries Public in Baltimore county.

Which was read the first time, and referred to Messrs.
Hubner, Brown and Moss.

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to pay the claim of Messrs. Thomas & Evans,
pointers and publishers of Baltimore city, for print-
ing the School Report.

Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on Finance.

Also, returned, the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 249, of
Article 1, of Code of Public Local Laws, title ''Alle-
gany County, " sub title "Westernport. "'

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Board
of Police Commissioners for the city of Baltimore to
increase the pension of James M. Moore, a retired
patrolman of the Police Force of Baltimore city.

Severally endorsed: "Passed by yeas and nays. "

Also returned,

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and direct
the County Commissioners of Montgomery county to
refund to Sarah A. Elliott, of said county, a sum of
money erroneously paid.

Endorsed, passed by yeas and nays, with proposed
amendment.

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out the word "Elliott" wherever it occurs,
in the bill and insert "Ellicott" in lieu thereof.
