missioner for the City of Baltimore, for the term of
six years from the 15th day of March, 1893.

On motion by Smith,
The Joint Convention adjourned.

ELECTION OF TREASURER.

The hour of 1, 30 o'clock P. M. having arrived, the
Senate proceeded to the election of a State Treasurer
for the State of Maryland.

The Senators proceeded to deposit their ballots in
the ballot box, which was delivered to Messrs. Woot-
ton and Wilkinson, who conjointly with the Com-
mittee of the House of Delegates, retired from the
Senate Chamber to count the ballots.

Said Committee having performed their duty, re-
turned with the following

REPORT:

The Committee appointed by the Senate and House
of Delegates to count the votes cast for the Treasurer
of Maryland, beg leave to report that

The votes cast by the Senate were in number - 21
The votes cast by the House of Delegates were

in number -------.... 75

Making in all ------------ 95

Of which number Spencer C. Jones received 89
votes, and Genl. Allen Rutherford receives 7 votes.

We therefore respectfully report that Spencer C.
having received the largest number of votes, is re-
turned by the committee as elected to the office of
Treasurer of Maryland.

Whereupon,

It was declared that Spencer C. Jones is duly
