Finance.

NOMINATIONS FOR STATE TREASURER.

The Senate proceeded to the nomination of candi-
dates for State Treasurer.

Mr. Hayes nominated Hon. Spencer C. Jones, of
Montgomery county.

And

Mr. Pearre nominated Gen. Allen Rutherford, of
Montgomery county.
Mr. Hayes presented the following:

BY THE SENATE,

January 29th, 1892,
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates;

We propose, with the concurrence of your Honora-
ble Body, to proceed to the election of a Treasurer of
the State, on this day, at 1. 30 o'clock, P. M. We
have nominated on the part of the Senate, Hon.
Spencer C. Jones, of Montgomery county, and Gen.
Allen Rutherford, of Montgomery county, and have
appointed as tellers, Messrs. Wootton and Wilkinson,
on the part of the Senate, who are to receive the vote
of the Senate, and in connection with the tellers to be
appointed by your Honorable Body, to count the same.

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the House
of Delegates.
Mr. Robinson presented the following:

BY THE SENATE,

January 29th, 1892.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We propose, with the concurrence of your Honora-
ble Body, to hold a Joint Convention at 1 o'clock, P,
M., to-day, for the purpose of electing a Police Com-
