CHAPTER 62.

AN ACT to provide for the payment of the salary

due the Secretary of the State Board of Health

for the year ending the thirty-first day of Decem-

ber, eighteen hundred and seventy-seven.

Whereas by a clerical error the amount for the

salary of the Secretary of the State Board of Health,

as fixed by section four, chapter two hundred of the

laws of Maryland, passed at the session of eighteen

hundred and seventy-four, was omitted in the act of

Preamble.

eighteen hundred and seventy-six, making the ap-
propriations for the year eighteen hundred and sev-

enty-seven. And whereas the said Secretary has re-

ceived no part of the salary due him for that period,

but has, under the direction of the Governor of the

State of Maryland, continued to perform all the du-

ties of the office ; therefore,

Comptroller

SECTION 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is

directed to is-

hereby authorized and directed to issue his warrant

to the Treasurer in favor of Dr. C. W. Chancellor for

fifteen hundred dollars, the amount of salary due him

as Secretary of the State Board of Health for the

year ending December the thirty-first, eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-seven, to be paid out of any money

in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

effect from the date of its passage.
