SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said County

CHAPTER 421.

   
 

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Washington

 

City and Point Lookout Railroad Company, and

 

to enlarge the powers thereof, so as to enable said

 

company to purchase the rights and property, real

 

and personal, of the Southern Maryland Railroad

 

Company.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

 

of Maryland, That the Washington City and Point

 

Lookout Railroad Company, a corporation duly or-

 

ganized on the twenty-fourth day of February, eigh-

 

teen hundred and seventy-two, under the provisions

 

of an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland,

 

entitled "An act to provide for the creation and

 

regulation of incorporated companies in the State of

Authority

Maryland," approved April the fourth, eighteen hun-
dred and seventy, is hereby authorized and empowered

and power
given to pur-
chase.

to purchase the rights and property, real or personal,
or the railroad, or any part of the railroad, of the

 

Southern Maryland Railroad Company, a corporation
created under the provisions of the Act of the General

 

Assembly, passed at the January session, eighteen

 

hundred and sixty-eight, chapter one hundred and

 

fifty, at any sale thereof which may hereafter be

 

made under the decree or order of any court of com-

 

petent jurisdiction, or under the provisions of any

 

mortgage or deed of trust duly executed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

 

effect from and after the date of its passage.
