LAWS OF MARYLAND.

 

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That it shall not be

 

lawful for any person or persons to stop their horses

 

or any other animal, carts, wagons or any other

vehicle in any public or private road, or any other
place within the distance of one-half mile beyond and
" surrounding the grounds belonging to and controlled

 

by the said corporation, during any fair or exhibition

 

conducted and carried on under the auspices of the

 

same, any longer time than is absolutely necessary
in the transaction of their legitimate business, or for

 

any person or persons to violate any of the provisions

 

of this act, or any of the rules, regulations and enact-

 

ments of the said association not inconsistent with

 

the laws of this State.

 

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That any person or

 

persons who shall knowingly and wilfully violate

 

any of the provisions of this act, or any of the by-

 

laws, rules, regulations or other enactments of the

 

said association not inconsistent with the laws of this

 

State, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and

 

upon conviction thereof before any justice of the

 

peace of the said county, each and every person so

offending shall be fined by said justice of the peace

a sum not less than one dollar, nor more than five

 

dollars for the first offence, and not less than five

 

dollars nor more than twenty dollars for each and

 

every offence committed thereafter ; and upon the

same may be tried shall commit them to the county

 

jail in said county until the said fines and costs are

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That all fines imposed
