SEQ. 3. And be it enacted, That the objects of

 

the said corporation shall be to promote the advance-

 

ment of agriculture, horticulture, the mechanic arts

 

and the manufactures dependent on or connected

therewith, the improvement of the breeds of all do-

mestic animals associated with farming, and for the

 

encouraging and effecting the development of the

 

resources of the said county, and in carrying out the

 

said objects ; the said corporation may hold one or

 

more fairs or meetings in each year, at such places

 

as it may select for the exhibition and trial of such

 

animals as it may deem proper, for all kinds of pro-

 

ducts of the farm and garden, agricultural and other

 

implements, and all other things worthy of being

 

exhibited before the public, and may offer and give

 

such premiums as it may determine on for superiority

 

in the object sought for.

 

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said corpora-

 

tion be and they are hereby authorized and empow-

the laws of this State, and the protection of property,

upon the request of the president of the said asso-

 

ciation, to summon and detail in the name of the

 

State of Maryland, such constabulary force as they
