SEQ. 3. And be it enacted, That the objects of

the said corporation shall be to promote the advance-
|
 
|
ment of agriculture, horticulture, the mechanic arts
|
 
|
and the manufactures dependent on or connected
|

therewith, the improvement of the breeds of all do-
|
accomplished
|
mestic animals associated with farming, and for the
|
 
|
encouraging and effecting the development of the
|
 
|
resources of the said county, and in carrying out the
|
 
|
said objects ; the said corporation may hold one or
|
 
|
more fairs or meetings in each year, at such places
|
 
|
as it may select for the exhibition and trial of such
|
 
|
animals as it may deem proper, for all kinds of pro-
|
 
|
ducts of the farm and garden, agricultural and other
|
 
|
implements, and all other things worthy of being
|
 
|
exhibited before the public, and may offer and give
|
 
|
such premiums as it may determine on for superiority
|
 
|
in the object sought for.
|
 
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said corpora-
|
 
|
tion be and they are hereby authorized and empow-
|

the sum of fifty thousand dollars, at such price for

each share of said stock as the said corporation may

determine upon, and the certificates of stock issued

valid and binding against the said corporation as if

issued under and by virtue of this act.

|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That for the purpose
|
 
|
of preserving order, enforcing the rules and regula-
|
 
|
tions of the said corporation not inconsistent with
|
 
|
the laws of this State, and the protection of property,
|
 
|
the several justices of the peace in Wicomico county
|
 
|
be and they are hereby authorized and empowered,
|
 
|
upon the request of the president of the said asso-
|
 
|
ciation, to summon and detail in the name of the
|
 
|
State of Maryland, such constabulary force as they

may deem sufficient for the perfect preservation of

peace and order, the protection of property, and the
|
force
|
full enforcement of the rules and regulations afore-
|
 
|
said, during any fair -or exhibition of the said corpo-
|
 
|
ration, and upon and around the grounds belonging
|
 
|
to or controlled by the same, which detailed force
|
 
|
aforesaid shall have and exercise the same powers
|
 
|
and authority as the several constables in this State
|
 
|
now do as conservators of the peace.
