SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That Milton A. Parsons, Elihu J.

Pusey, James B. W. Perdue, George W. Leonard,

George W. Hitch, Ezekiel Hitch, George W. Bell,
|
 
|
Thomas Humphreys, Charles F. Holland, Edward S.
|
 
|
Toadvine, George Waller, William S. Gordy, William
|
 
|
W. Disharoon, Elijah Freeny aud J. Augustus Par-
|
 
|
sons, and their associates, who now constitute the
|
 
|
Agricultural and Mechanical Association of Wicom-
|
 
|
ico county, and such other persons as shall be here-
|
 
|
after admitted members of the same, be and they
|

are hereby constituted a body politic and corporate

with perpetual succession, under the name and style
|

of the " Agricultural and Mechanical Association of
|
 
|
Wicomico county," with power to them and their
|

successors to adopt a common seal, and the same to

alter and change at will, and by the corporate name
|

be impleaded, and to take and hold property, real,
|

personal and mixed, and the same to sell, exchange
|

or otherwise dispose of, and in general to do, perform
|

and suffer, with reference to the hereinbefore men-
|
 
|
tioned purpose of their incorporation, all acts and
|
 
|
things which may be lawfully done, performed and
|
 
|
suffered by a natural person.

SEO. 2. And be it enacted, That this corporation,
|
 
|
or a majority of the members of the same present
|
 
|
at any properly authorized meeting of the corpora-
tion, shall have full power to make and adopt a sys-

tion of constitution and by-laws or otherwise, not

inconsistent with the constitution and laws of this
|
 
|
State, for the government and management of the
|
 
|
affairs of the said association, and the same to alter
|
 
|
and amend, abrogate and annul whenever they may
|
 
|
think proper ; and the present officers and board of
|
 
|
directors of the said association shall continue in their
|
 
|
respective stations until an election shall be held and
|
 
|
made under this act ; and the constitution, by-laws,
|
 
|
rules and all other enactments now in force in said
|
 
|
association, and not inconsistent with the laws of this
|
 
|
State, shall remain in force, be good and valid until
|
 
|
altered, amended or abrogated by the corporation.
