CHAPTER 409.
AN ACT to extend an act entitled " An act to
incorporate the "Withers Mining Company,"
passed at December session eighteen hundred
and forty-seven, chapter three hundred and six,
and the act to alter and amend said original act
of incorporation, passed at January session,
eighteen hundred and seventy, chapter two hun-
dred and twenty-seven, for the period of thirty
years, and to repeal and re-enact with amend-
ments section two of said last-named act.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the act entitled " An act to in-
corporate the Withers Mining Company," passed
at December session, eighteen hundred and forty-
seven, chapter three hundred and six, and the act
to alter and amend said original act of incorpora- tion, passed at January session, eighteen hundred	Extended and continu'd in force
and seventy, chapter two hundred and twenty-
seven, be and the same are hereby continued in
full force and effect for the period of thirty years
from the eighth day of March, eighteen hundred
and seventy-eight, and until the end of the next
session of the General Assembly which shall
happen thereafter.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That section two of
said act of eighteen hundred and seventy, chapter
two hundred and twenty-seven, is hereby repealed and amended to read as follows : That a majority	Repealed and amended.
in interest and value of the stockholders of said
company, at any time after the passage of this
act, may call a meeting of the stockholders of
said company, to be held at Frostburg, by adver-
tisement published for two weeks in at least two
newspapers published in Allegany county, and at
such general meeting proceed to organize said
company by the election of president and directors
of the same, in the same manner as if said meet-
ing were a regular meeting of the stockholders
