CHAPTER 401.

AN ACT to authorize the Board of Public Works

to purchase, or, in their discretion, to procure by

exchange, a certain lot of ground adjoining the

Western Hay Scales.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That the Board of Public Works be

and are hereby authorized to purchase, for the use and

the convenience of the Western Hay Scales, in the

certain lot of

city of Baltimore, a certain lot of ground adjoining
thereto, or, in their discretion, to procure the same

ground

by an exchange of a similar lot near to the said Hay

Scales, belonging to the State ; provided, however,

that if purchased, the cost thereof shall not exceed

the sum of one thousand dollars.

effect from the date of its passage.
