erection of the new, and award the erection and re-

pairs to the lowest bidder, if in their judgment they
deem the same expedient ; provided the erection and

repair, and all expenses incident to such repair and

addition, shall not exceed the sum of five thousand

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the County Com-
|
 
|
missioners, before accepting any bid for the erection
|

of the new addition and repairs of the old jail, shall

require the bidder to enter into a good bond, in the
|
 
|
sum of ten thousand dollars, for the faithful perform-
|
 
|
ance of said repairs and the erection of said addition
|
 
|
to said jail.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That at the next regu-
|
 
|
lar levy-laying term of said County Commissioners

after the passage of this act, they shall levy a special
tax sufficient to defray all the costs and expenses of
the work hereby authorized, and of all incidental

|
expenses necessary to the carrying out of the provi-
|
 
|
sions of this act ; provided, however, that the whole

|
sum so levied shall not exceed the sum of five thou-
|
 
|
sand dollars, and shall be payable, on the order of
|
 
|
said County Commissioners, to the parties respec-
|
 
|
tively entitled to the same.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the said County
